Arpeggios

In order to perform an arpeggio you must play each note of a chord one at a time rather than in succession. Also, you must not let the notes ring out but rather sound out one at a time as you pick through the chord. Sweep picking is often used as a techniques to perform arpeggios. This technique can be used with various chord shapes on your guitar and are often incorporated into soloing. When perfected the guitarist is able to play through the notes very quickly. Arpeggios can be played through minor and major chords at first they seem difficult to master but as you practice they become much easier. Learning to play arpeggios can really add some melody to your soloing. Mixing in this technique with your style rather than performing them all the time can help to accent your soloing.
